Guided trips
Cascadia Tidal Co. offers guided shellfish foraging trips for small groups. You’ll learn practical harvesting skills, understand the rules, and take home what you legally catch.
Trips are scheduled around suitable tides and take place only on beaches open to shellfish harvesting under WDFW regulations and approved by the Washington Department of Health.
Birch Bay clam digging

Dig for Manila and native littleneck clams on the tide flats of Birch Bay. This beginner-friendly trip covers identification, digging techniques, and responsible harvesting.

Learn how to find and dig horse clams, a large native species found deep beneath the tide flats. This trip requires more physical effort and deeper digging than the Birch Bay trip.
